The ups and the downs

Lately I have been having my girls fold and put away the laundry. They are "off track" and have oodles of time to kill. There are definitely some pros and some cons to their laundry folding.

PROS:
  • I have more time to get other jobs done.
  • The girls have more of an appreciation for how much time my work takes.

CONS:
  • I can't find any of my socks.
  • I can't find any of the twins socks.
  • I can find interesting pieces of laundry in my dish towel drawer....namely, Aarons underwear.
  • I can easily find my best white t-shirt....it's really just in plain sight, hanging from the light fixture in the living room. Isn't that clever.
  • I can find Adams garments. His bottoms are rolled together with my tops, in my drawer.

Do the pros outweigh the cons here.....I say, you betcha! (Depending on my patience level.)

Motherhood seems to be a constant choice between what's easier in the short-term and what's easier in the long-term.

You hang in there, sister!

I love your stories! Laundry, Laundry, Laundry-- it's just never finished and I've decided that I just don't care. But I don't think that I will let anyone really help me (other than the sorting and putting clothes in the hamper) for quite a while. I've had not so great experiences.
